In all things Legacy Driven, we’re always seeking and thankful for opportunities to get our youth involved in the community, and it’s no better way than offering them employment too!

@impactgwinnett and their Impact STEAM Academy called upon us to recruit, interview, and hire @shsgenerals students to be After-School Youth Assistants for this upcoming academic school year

On Saturday, July 20th from 9am-12pm at Impact Church, we had an awesome workshop to expose church youth leaders, teachers and our youth assistants (see in the pics) how to work with Special Needs children. The information was great, and the speaker did an awesome job in helping us to work with our children at the highest level. It was interactive and fun, which made learning a greater experience.

Welcome Micah, Kimaya, Jaeda, Rialey, and Chase to your new opportunity. You’re putting in the work now, and your faith is rising! We look forward to working with you all.

As a mentor, coach, and parent,

Sometimes, I find myself having to pause while coaching.

I have to move past the school teacher who desires the student to change TODAY!

I have to move past the parent of the mentee saying, "I wish they would change, I'm tired, I'm exhausted."

Even as a mentor, we succomb to seeking change ASAP.

I have to sit still, pray, gather my senses, and realize,

sometimes LIFE must COLLIDE WITH THE MESSAGE!

We can not expect change in a child in our timing and terms.

We MUST be patient and understand, change will come,

with consistency in our coaching/training.

Each child will receive what they need in their timing.

We want to give a special thank you for the invite on May 14th to speak to @rodhames 6th-8th grade classes concerning financial literacy.

We discussed saving, budgeting, stocks, needs vs. wants, delayed gratification, discussing money with family or the lack of and the effects of that and more!

We appreciate it, Mr. Hames, and we look forward to you coming and presenting the financial curriculum to our youth. This is invite #2 for us to connect, and the discussions we've had unfiltered and unbiased about ALL our youth is appreciated. Let's keep things rolling!

WHERE TWO OR MORE ARE GATHERED, HE'S IN THE MIDST!

We want to say THANK YOU to everyone that participated in the planning, donate towards our programming, school administrators that advertised our session and our speakers for setting the tone for the March session and I believe many more going forward.

To our parents, we can't say thank you enough for trusting us with your children. We count it an honor, and we pray for you. We had an amazing time, and to watch our speakers flow in excellence, our young men interact and receive additional support from the military fraternity of Kappa Lambda Chi was humbling.

We're not done! Part 2 is set for April 27th, and the finish will be strong. Mr. Brannon and Mr. Sweet set it off, and it will be up to our last two speakers to complete the vision God has given us at the highest level!
